Root Center New Britain Residential Treatment
The New Britain Residential Treatment facility is the first of its kind for the Root Center for Advanced Recovery. This new site, which started accepting patients in 2026, replaces a former Root Center Clinic location at 70 Whiting Street in New Britain. The Root Center has been serving Connecticut since 1871 but for the first time in our history, we will now offer residential treatment. This 16 bed, men’s and women’s, facility will help patients needing a more acute level of substance use treatment. Our new site is nearly 10,000 square feet, and is architecturally stunning, offering warm finishes to make our patients feel comfortable during their treatment.
A note from the Director of Operations:
"Root Center is excited to open the doors to its first Residential Treatment Facility, providing high-quality addictions and mental health treatment in a safe, structured, and supportive environment. With access to professional support, therapeutic and peer services, and a recovery-focused community, individuals can address underlying issues, develop new coping skills, create a path towards lasting change, and build a strong foundation for long-germ sobriety. We want to empower individuals to regain control and take meaningful steps towards healing and personal growth."
