Driving Recovery Golf Classic 2026: A Day of Community, Connection, and Impact

The Driving Recovery Golf Classic returned to Lyman Orchards this year with plenty of sunshine, friendly competition, and a community united around a common purpose. Ninety-two golfers gathered at Lyman Orchards Golf Club for Root Center for Advanced Recovery's second annual Driving Recovery Golf Classic. Together with our sponsors, volunteers, and community partners, we helped raise more than $23,000 to support Root Center's programs and services.

Beyond the funds raised, the day was a celebration of connection, generosity, and the shared belief that everyone deserves access to compassionate behavioral healthcare and recovery support.

From the moment golfers arrived, the tournament was filled with energy, camaraderie, and plenty of memorable moments on the course. Golfers warmed up on the driving range before heading out for a day of friendly competition, while on-course challenges added an extra layer of excitement throughout the tournament. After play concluded, participants gathered for a banquet dinner, raffle drawings, and an opportunity to celebrate the success of the event together.

Most importantly, golfers, sponsors, volunteers, and community partners came together in support of a mission that affects individuals and families across Connecticut. The result was an event that celebrated not only the game itself, but the power of community, generosity, and shared purpose.

Behind every successful tournament is a tremendous amount of planning, preparation, and support. We are especially grateful to the members of our golf committee, volunteers, sponsors, and community partners who helped bring this year's event to life. Their dedication over the past several months helped create an experience that was enjoyable, meaningful, and impactful for everyone involved.

Through their support, the Driving Recovery Golf Classic raised more than $23,000 to help advance Root Center's mission and strengthen the programs and services we provide throughout Connecticut.

"From our sponsors and golfers to the businesses that donated raffle prizes and our staff who volunteered their time, so many people came together to support Root Center and our mission. To have 92 golfers join us and raise more than $23,000 for our staff and patients is something we're really proud of, and we're looking forward to making next year even bigger and better."

While the final scores have been recorded and the last golf carts have been returned, the impact of this year's tournament will continue long after the day ended. The event served as a powerful reminder of what can happen when a community comes together in support of a shared purpose. We are already looking forward to next year's tournament and building on the incredible momentum, generosity, and community spirit that made this year's event such a success.
