John M. Sheehan serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of Root Center for Advanced Recovery, bringing more than 20 years of executive leadership experience and a deep commitment to improving the lives of individuals and families affected by mental health and substance use challenges.
Throughout his career, John has been driven by a belief that everyone deserves access to compassionate, high-quality care and the opportunity to lead a healthier, more fulfilling life. His leadership approach emphasizes collaboration, innovation and a genuine appreciation for the dedicated professionals who make recovery possible every day.
Prior to joining Root Center, John served as Chief Executive Officer of Harbor, a nonprofit behavioral health organization in Ohio, where he led organizational growth and expanded access to integrated healthcare services. He previously served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Mind Springs Health in Colorado and held leadership positions with BayCare Health System in Florida, contributing to the advancement of behavioral health programs and services.
With extensive expertise in organizational strategy, clinical program development and operational excellence, John brings both the experience and passion needed to help Root Center continue evolving to meet the needs of the communities it serves.
