Root Center hosted our first-ever Legislative Breakfast on April 27, 2021, with presentations from our CEO, Medical Director, and other key staff. Root Center leaders discussed the impact of COVID-19 on substance use in CT, telehealth as a tool for ongoing whole-client care, and community needs as we move past the pandemic and into the future. Legislators explored issues related to mental health and recovery in the aftermath of COVID-19 and discussed ways to manage obstacles in the field of behavioral healthcare. The event was a huge success! All in-person participants confirmed full vaccination prior to the event.
